Horse Sense Riding School

Helping People, Helping Horses

We believe that horses teach patience, compassion, teamwork and communication skills, and that these lessons should be available to everyone.

To teach our community patience, communication and self-esteem through horsemanship and riding.

Even if you can't donate money,
the horses would love your time and affection. Contact us to volunteer! We would love to have you.

Kat Barrett founded Horse Sense Riding School in 2012 armed with a love of horses and a dream.
Kat forced her parents to plow through rough New England winters for many years to take weekly lessons at Andover Riding Academy in Andover, MA.
Later in life she competed with the Marist Equestrian team for a year before transferring to the University of New Mexico and getting a Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus in Child Development and Family Studies.
While living in Oregon, Kat learned to love Western riding as much as English styles.
Kat is the Founder and Executive Director of the Horse Sense Riding School.
If you possess a skill that you think may be useful to Horse Sense Riding School, please contact Kat Barrett through our 'Contact Us' page to learn about joining our Board.
