Horse Sense Riding School

Helping People, Helping Horses

Program Summaries:

Standard Lesson Program
Our standard lesson program is available to anyone in the community that wishes to learn horsemanship.
Our students can learn both English and Western riding styles and our instructors have backgrounds in English hunter/jumper, classical dressage and Western Pleasure.
We also teach ground work and on-the-ground basics in our standard lesson program.

Low Income Families Program
We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to love and learn about horses.
For families making less than $55,000 gross income per year, we offer discounted lessons in our standard lesson program.

At-Risk Youth Program
At Horse Sense, we know that horses teach leadership, patience, communication and teamwork while improving self-esteem.
Each month, we provide free and greatly discounted lessons to youth involved in community programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia NW.
We are currently creating an Experiential Horse Management Program that will provide teens in the local juvenile justice system with an opportunity
to build their resume and self-esteem as they learn horsemanship from the ground up, including training, riding, facility and horse management.

Equine Rescue, Rehabilitation and Foster Program
In our industry, many horses face homeless due to age or a change in their families' economic or life circumstances.
HSRS provides homes, training and jobs to horses that were at risk of auction or slaughter.
We also provide temporary foster homes and work for horses that we hope to reunite with their families
when they are ready and able to care for their horses again.
